I was pleased to moderate the AdvaMed panel "What do Hospital CFOs Really Want?"
This panel is the second in a series that Advamed invited Medi-Vantage to present at its 2020 annual meeting. The first was What do Hospital Administrators Really Want? Greater than 60 attendees packed the room at Advamed 2019 in Boston for this presentation. (I really miss F2F meetings!)
Hospital CFOs are driving discussions about Value Based Health Care (VBHC) and our Medi-Vantage team is listening and reporting.
CFOs are changing engagement with clinicians in evaluating the role medical devices play in reducing the total cost of care, improving quality and managing risk.
To be successful in a VBHC market, medtech manufacturers must understand where CFOs are on this journey (including the impacts of COVID-19).
The panelists discussed:
Current research: VBHC and physician engagement
How best-in-class medtech companies engage hospitals with strategic VBHC and supply chain objectives
Opportunities for outcomes-based contracts that tie product pricing to real world performance
How to forge closer relationships between providers and suppliers to strengthen supply chain resiliency.
We had four great panelists:
Kerry Gillespie - Healthcare Financial Operations; Intermountain Healthcare
Rob Bull - VP Finance, CFO; Southlake Regional Health Centre, Ontario, Canada
Karen Conway - VP, Healthcare Value; GHX
Todd Nelson – Director; HFMA
