Medtech Executive Women Survey Article Published in MDDI

The share of medtech executive women in leadership positions is significantly lower than in other industries.

Greater than 300 medtech executive women (Directors, VPs, C-Suite) were sent an online survey and 61 shared their perceptions of the career obstacles for women with medtech careers. They reported that, at their companies, the average number of women holding positions of vice president or higher is 17% and that the median was 12%.

Life at the top of the medtech food chain is not easy for medical device executive women.  The journey is a challenge, and C-suite and board-level respondents shared almost 200 pieces of wisdom and insights such as the following:

Women need to challenge themselves to take stretch roles so that the uncomfortable will become comfortable.
